In Her Image
The mirror showed no refelction. Whether or not I truely existed was the burning question.
Walked amoungst the dead in the land of the living. Asking myself "WHY?," I couldn't stop sinning.
I crossed oceans in search of once inspired me, ghost of my past haunted each and every one of my dreams. I lost childhood wants and memories.
Thought I was left for dead, wandered in a haze for days, feet full of lead, no progression was made.
And then I dreamed of her. She came to me, Crane wings spread like an angel. Come to take me away from my walk with the Devil.
In her hands she held a mirror, she said that's where she saw me.
I stared at he blankly and told her of the impossiblity. I told her "I have no reflection."
Unable to see myself I turned on my heels to walk the other direction.
She grabbed me by my arm and held the mirror to my face she told me to look again before it was too late.
Something about her sudden urgency made me do a double take. In the mirror were two eyes intense hungry and full of life. The girl staring back at me was reminisent of Snow White.
Flooding back to me were lost childhood memories, then she found a place for all my bad deeds.
She told me to wear my scares proudly. Never be ashamed of who you are are or where you have been, and to deny true self is the greatest sin.
I looked down at my arm where the bird lady grabbed me. A gated 7 was tattooed into my skin magically. It burned but she told me that pain is relative.
And what I had recieved would guide me to succeed and the gift was heaven sent.
She said creation is her specialty.
She had no fear of life because she had met death and embraced her whole-heartedly.
She said when death let go, it was as if she had awaken from a dream. The world look different and she began to see endless possiblities.
The bird lady pulled a purple box out of her purple pouch. Set it in my hands and promised that with what the box held would never let me be without. She handed me the mirror, wrapped her wings around me and dissappeared. Her voice whispered in the wind " If you need me just look in the mirror and that's where you'll find me."
